Manual Surf (Traffic) Exchange vs. Text Ad Exchange
Both Exchange types have FREE Membership level. So, YES, you can get free advertising for your programs and offers for just joining up to either type of Exchange. Before deciding which is better, first you have to know what each is or the definintion for each.
Manual Traffic Surf Exchange:
These are commonly called (TE’s) Traffic Exchange. Most are manual, where you physically sit in front of your computer and after a specific period of time (8 – 30 seconds) you then, manually click on a matching Icon or item to (SURF) skip to, and view the next advertisement (Target Website). There are also Automatic TE’s where you start a surf session then sit and watch the advertisements, but when the required time is done, it will automatically go to the next site without clicking. Why should I click on the Icon? You want to advertise your programs or offers. In order to show your Target (website, offer), Banner or Text ad, is to assign credits to them to be displayed on the Exchange Site. You either purchase or earn these credits.

In Surf Exchanges the means of advertising is by credits these are called Points in Text Ad Exchanges.
Both have the same end result you need to earn or purchase credits/points because you use credits/points to advertise on the exchange.
How do I earn Credits/Points?
You earn points by clicking on and reading all the types of ads on the site from other members.
You also earn points for referring new members.
All activity you do on these Exchanges earns you Credits/Points.
The more active you are, the more points you earn.
In Manual Surf Exchanges:
When you join you receive a free starter package for that site.
Some Manual Surf Exchanges offer the first few members that join free upgrades.

Most TE’s work on the principle of monthly membership payments, In return for monthly free credits.
Some sites have log in bonuses, where when you log into the Exchange you receive bonus credits.
If you are a free member, you do not receive an advertising credit bonus each month.
You sit and click on an icon, banner or text headings, you view (read) the advertisment for 6 – 30 seconds, then click on the matching icon again. You will be credited from .3 or .5 credits for each view, which is a 2 or 3 to 1 viewing.
Simply, you have to view 3 sites to receive 1 credit, or 2 sites to get 1 credit or view.
This credit rate may apply to Banners and Text Ads. But usually banners and text are at 1 to 1 rate.
Some times the Site Owner or Admin will put on specials where surfing levels are upgraded.
May include both a web and banner credits.

How Do I Use Credits/Points?
You use Credits/Points to advertise or promote YOUR programs and offerings.

You assign credits to all of the advertising options. Your advertising means (URL, Banner or Text).
These are then displayed on the Exchange for that specific number of assigned credits.

You can also purchase just straight credits.

In Text Ad Exchanges:
You purchase all Points and Trade Points for or purchase Advertising Options in the Advertising Area

How Can I Earn Money?
In both types of Exchanges Everyone can earn commissions.
But usually only Upgraded Members can receive Commissions in CASH.
Free members can trade Commissions earned for advertising options.
You will earn commissions from people you refer to the site when they upgrade or buy anything or advertising.
The more people you refer, the more opportunity you have to make commissions.
